Again this weekend London has been blessed with clear skies and 26 degree weather. Again, I am not hungover. Taking these two small miracles, Mr G&J and I skipped off to Broadway Market to sample Nana Fanny’s Salt Beef in the sunshine. If you haven’t been to Broadway Market, do go. There’s every sort of food stall that you could dream of and also clothing, homewares, fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood and meat.

Amongst all this temptation , what did I wrap my maw around? I chose Nana Fanny’s Salt Beef, which Jamie Oliver has called the best salt beef in London. With this kind of plaudit, how could you not want to get involved? I went for a classic order, salt beef with mustard and pickles served on a Brick Lane bagel.

Dear Reader, it was delicious. Incredible melting salt beef, tangy massive dill pickles and American-style yellow mustard that delivers a donkey-kick to your tastebuds. Glorious. Stand on the street, shove it in your face with wild abandon, as I did, and give thanks that you live in London.

Nana Fanny’s Salt Beef, an absolute must try when in London. They also have a stall at Borough Market.
